International Conference on Sustainable Cities and Urban Landscapes (ICSULA 2022)

Esteemed scientists and participants,

 

It is my pleasure and honor to invite you to the International Conference on Sustainable Cities and Urban Landscapes (ICSULA 2022), which will be held online on October 26-27, 2022.

 

ICSULA 2022, which is an international academic congress, covers all kinds of physical planning issues that include the city and urban landscape serving sustainability, and non-physical planning issues that form the basis of this issue. In this context, the congress includes all fields and researches that include the ecological, social and economic dimensions of urban sustainability. ICSULA2022 has an interdisciplinary focus and aims to bring together scientists from many different professional disciplines, especially from planning and design sciences, within the framework of sustainable urban development. To this end, it aims to create a platform for researchers, academics as well as other professionals from different parts of the world to present and discuss their research results. The Congress also provides opportunities for participants to share new ideas, expertise and experiences, establish business or research relationships and find partners for future cooperation.

 

The concept of sustainability which aims to maintain the existence of resources, protect and increase its efficiency has started to gain importance in cities with the negative living conditions that started to show itself with the industrial revolution. Threats on resources and the urban environment have been tried to be reduced by a series of measures taken; however, with the existence of the global economy, these threats have existed. The problems that are still on the agenda with the continuation of urbanization have led to the efforts to ensure sustainability in urban life always on the agenda and this approach continues today. Ecologically based disciplines have to carry out studies that also address the economic and socio-cultural dimension of the problem. Therefore, these disciplines aim to protect natural and cultural resources through multi-disciplinary studies focusing on sustainable cities and urban landscapes. Livable cities can only be created with this holistic perspective.

 

The languages ​​of ICSULA 2022, which will be hosted by Selcuk University, are English and Turkish.

 

ICSULA 2022 complies with the academic promotion criteria of the relevant institutions, including being appointed to associate professorship and professorship positions both in terms of the scientific and advisory board and the diversity of the participating countries. In addition, the papers presented at the congress are evaluated within the scope of academic incentive applications.

 

Papers which will be presented at the congress will be published in the proceedings book with Turkish and English abstracts or in the full text book with full texts, and both books will have ISBN numbers. Participant's can apply to have their papers published only as "abstracts" in full text in the journals listed in the TR Index or scanned in international indexes, according to their preference. However, it will be possible to publish the journals if it is appropriate within their own publication policies and processes. For this reason, the Journal processes have no relationship with the Congress Organizing Committee.
